Lighthouse Architecture: Guiding Excellence in Federal Design-Build
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
Lighthouse Architecture has proudly transitioned its focus to federal design-build work since 2009. Our journey began at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, where we achieved success, from there, expanding to projects at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and NSA Philadelphia. After a decade of growth at NavFac MIDLANT, we have become a trusted name in the federal design-build sector.
Our team of professionals includes architects, interior designers, and multi-discipline engineers. We partner with design professionals, and their firms, who are the right fit for opportunities we pursue based on their qualifications, availability, capacity, and cost. This ensures that we assemble the ideal team for each project, tailored to its unique requirements.
The Lighthouse team is competent, capable, and always available to the design-build team and the government representatives that we serve. Our culture is built on dedication to client committed to delivering the best in federal design-build excellence.
Lighthouse Architecture’s focus is on what you aspire to achieve. Located in Philadelphia, we provide full Architecture/Engineering and Interior Design services for the mid-Atlantic region. We realize your vision with design that is appealing, functional, affordable—and buildable. You get what you want in a Creative yet ConstructibleSM package.
Your project has a unique purpose, process, budget, schedule and image to convey. Whether it is a new building, an adaptive re-use of an older structure, or a renovation, there is always a want, a need and an absolutely must have.
In each market and for each client type, our focus is the same; providing creative design in a very constructible package that gets you what you want, how you want it.
Peter J. Porretta, principal architect, brings a unique sensibility to architectural design. Growing up in the family construction business, he learned to appreciate the full scope of talents needed to execute an architectural concept through the challenges of the construction process to completion.
His design philosophy derives from that of the Roman architect Vitruvius, who famously wrote that a building should have “firmness, commodity, and delight.” A building should perform; it should provide a return on investment; and it should be a pleasure to view and to occupy.
Porretta’s design and construction experience was broadened by a Master’s in Business Administration and co-ownership in a real estate development company. He understands developers because he has been there—designing, financing, building and selling.
