A loan is not legally binding without the signatures of the borrower and lender. For additional protection for both parties, it is strongly recommended that two witnesses be signed and that they be present at the time of signing. A loan agreement is a legal contract between a lender and a borrower that defines the terms of a loan. A credit contract model allows lenders and borrowers to agree on the amount of the loan, interest and repayment plan. A Parent Plus loan, also known as “Direct PLUS,” is a federal student loan that is received by the parents of a child who needs financial assistance for the school.
