With respect for the community’s emotional attachment to the existing educational facility, AIA architect and Lighthouse principal Peter Porretta led the Lighthouse Architecture team in creating a modern material addition to the historically significant school for its expansion from K-6 to K-8.
The architecture firm added nine classrooms and two small group rooms, as well as a high-school-standard multipurpose gymnasium for School Lane’s and the community’s use. The Philadelphia architects also renovated the original building, providing architectural, interior design and building systems engineering services.
