As part of the UWU collective agreement, THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT 2: The contracting parties agree to the creation of a union/BCGEU committee to develop the principles that constitute the establishment of an equal employment program in BCGEU jobs. COPE 378 (MoveUP) is invited to participate in the committee on an equal footing with the Union and BCGEU. Recent events have focused on racism, particularly anti-black racism and anti-indigenous racism, and highlighted the need to accelerate progress towards under-updating these recommendations at the BCGEU. In response, we put together a brief survey. We plan to take feedback to help us work with the employer, to implement additional measures to establish a safer and truly inclusive work culture.
